How do Biomass boilers work?

Biomass boilers work by burning biological matter, usually wood pellets, chips or logs. The fuel can be fed automatically, semi-automatically or manually in to the boilers burning chamber where it is ignited. The hot air and gas produced by this process pass over a heat exchanger which transfers the heat to the water of a thermal store. The gases then escape through the boilers flue.

Thermal Store

The thermal store (also called a buffer vessel), stores the heated water ready to be delivered to the properties central heating system and domestic hot water.
